DHS's Cyber Security Role Expanded

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) put the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officially in charge of all civilian agency computer networks.
"The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) put the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officially in charge of all civilian agency computer networks," Federal News Radio reported on July 9, 2010. DHS was also tasked with taking other unnamed “actions to help secure both the Federal civilian government systems and the private sector” in a memo from July 6, 2010, detailing the new responsibilities around federal cyber security for DHS released by the OMB and the office of the cyber security coordinator for the White House.
